BG2350: Photographing Flowers Artistically

This two-session workshop will emphasize creative approaches to flower photography, visual composition, managing light, choosing a background, and close-up photography. Participants will learn how to use props—such as textured plexiglas, fabrics, and decorative objects—to enhance and capture the beauty of flowers. Class time will include instruction, personal attention, and opportunities to shoot in the Conservatory Garden Court before the public enters. The workshop culminates with a critique of participants' work. This workshop designed for photo enthusiasts at all levels, however students should have a general understanding of how to operate their camera. Note: Participants should bring all photo equipment, including fully charged batteries, media storage card, and camera manual. A tripod is highly recommended.
