DR0925: Drawing the District - a Sketchbook Course

This class is designed to improve the observational drawing skills of beginners and more advanced students utilizing a variety of media (pencils, ink, watercolor, pen) while developing a regular sketchbook practice. Utilizing the public spaces of the District of Columbia the class will use a lively visual mix of settings and subjects to draw inspiration including historic architecture, museums, parks, intriguing shops and people from near and far. Each class meeting will be held on-site (indoor and outdoor weather depending) and is designed to continue emphasis on a variety of aspects from figure, urban and natural landscape and the practice learning through visual discovery with sketchbook in hand.

The first class session will meet at our Georgetown Campus. The locations for subsequent sessions will be provided by the instructor.
