JE1250: Experimental Enamel

Vitreous enamels are an exciting way to add color to your metal work. This class will go over more contemporary ways to use the material. Some topics include patterns, paint enamels, torch firing, larger scale pieces, over- and under-firing, and the use of separation powders and stones to create texture. Students will design and create entire enamel pieces as well as learn to incorporate enamel segments into other jewelry.

The following prerequisites are required for this course:
JE1200 Introduction to Jewelry I.
