PH0823: The iPhone Photographer

This course explores the potential of the camera feature of the iPhone TM to take and edit photos without using a computer. The iPhone TM is capable of taking many interesting and creative images more then just the simple snapshot. The saying: "the best camera is the one that's with you" truly applies here. Students will explore what iPhone TM apps work best with what subject matter and how to use their effects to the greatest potential. In addition to learning the different apps we will cover how to achieve the best positioning, lighting and technical aspects for the iPhone TM camera. The students will have a final class during which a selection of images will be outputted, turning your virtual images into an actual photographic document. In photography you are often capturing a fleeting moment, what better way to do this then with the camera you already have at your side at all times.

Students must have their own iPhone TM and may be asked to purchase some additional apps.
