PH2350: The Extended Image

This course is for anyone interested in non-traditional photography, as well as for artists working in other media who wish to expand their use of photographic imagery. Students will learn to break away from the "classic" print by exploring soft focus, camera movement, pinhole and toy cameras, hand-applied color, paint-on developer, print toning, flashlight drawing, photograms, magazine lift, Polaroid transfer, photo collage, blueprints, and much more. Emphasis (where possible) will be on simple, inexpensive, and nontoxic techniques and materials.

The following prerequisites are required for this course:
PH1000 Photography Technique and Practice, PH1200 Introduction to Photography; or request special permission to register by contacting ceadvisor@corcoran.org.A portfolio review may be required.
