PT1400: Introduction to Botanical Painting in Watercolor
For beginning students. This course is an introduction to the techniques of transparent watercolor using live plant material. Students will learn to apply paint and render the precise characteristics of specific plants, paying close attention to form, detail and color accuracy. Beginning with a simple plant form, students will move quickly to more complex plant portraits. Those with botanical drawings may proceed immediately to finished paintings. Drawing experience helpful.
At times this course may be cross-tallied at a more advanced level as PT2400: Intermediate Botanical Painting in Watercolor. Students with prior experience may wish to register for the more advanced section.
