PT1600-SP11: Special Topics: Painting Birds and Insects
This class will introduce students to the basic illustration techniques of birds and insects. Scientific material will be available for studies in texture and pattern, but emphasis will be made on potential for full-scale painting with aspects of form, color and pattern and composition. The instructor has a background in field research, evolutionary biology and comparative anatomy as well as painting and illustration. Students' particular interest will be encouraged. Acrylic paints will be used. Previous drawing and painting experience is recommended.
