PT2300: Portrait Painting
In this class students will explore the structure of the head, including the skull, facial muscles, and planes of the face. Emphasis will be on proportions and how they interrelate to find the qualities of a face that make it unique. Students will learn how to create solid forms and flesh tones in terms of light, shadow, and halftones, with special attention to painting flesh tones. This class will use oil paint.
