SL2351: Intermediate Woodworking and Furniture Design
In this intermediate course students expand on the skills and techniques developed in SL2341: Introduction to Woodworking and Furniture Design. From chairs and tables to a variety of cabinetry, students will have the ability to construct a work of their own design. Over the course of the semester, students will work with the instructor to design and build a piece of furniture. Instruction in the usage and techniques of both machine and hand tools are covered in conjunction with the execution of the finished piece. As different projects progress tutorials on new techniques will be explained and applied. At times this course may be cross-tallied at an introductory level as SL2341. Students with no prior experience may wish to register for the introductory section.
This course is occasionally cross-listed with SL3351: Advanced Woodwork and Furniture Design. Students should enroll in the version of the course appropriate for their skill level.
