Introduction to Jewelry I

JE1200 (1.5 credits or audit)
Students develop the basic skills necessary to design and fabricate unique pieces of jewelry.

Introduction to Jewelry II

JE1210 (1.5 credits or audit)
Improve on the basics skills learned in JE1200 to develop your personal design vocabulary and broaden your definition of jewelry.

Connections: Chains

JE1245 (1.5 credits or audit)
Students design and create handmade chains, including jump rings, woven chains, and chains with hollow elements.

Experimental Enamel

JE1250 (1.5 credits or audit)
Students will design and create entire enamel pieces as well as learn to incorporate enamel segments into other jewelry.

Wax Carving

JE1260 (1.5 credits or audit)
Students focus on hard wax carving techniques, one aspect of model making in jewelry design.

Casting Techniques

All sections full, waitlist only

JE1350 (1.5 credits or audit)
Students will be introduced to the basic skills needed to create multiples of a piece.

Alternative Materials Casting

JE1351 (1.5 credits or audit)
Learn to use non-metal materials to create cast objects!

Jewelry as Sculpture

JE2300 (1.5 credits or audit)
Students will use their jewelry making skills to create pieces that push the boundaries of the jewelry/sculpture divide.
