Summer Photography (Focus) Programs

REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER 2013 IS OPEN
THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF SPOTS STILL AVAILABLE

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS

The Corcoran’s Focus on Photojournalism and Focus on Fine Art Photography programs allow students interested in photography to develop their skills as well as their portfolios. These residential-only programs carry two undergraduate credits each and offer students ample studio and shooting time, nationally renowned faculty and visiting artists, intensive supervised programs, and activities around the city.

No formal prerequisite is required; students with photo coursework at the high school level as well as those with an interest in starting formal instruction are welcome.

PROGRAM OPTIONS

Focus on Photojournalism
Focus on Photojournalism program offers students the opportunity to enhance their photography skills while exploring the thriving world of photojournalism in the nation’s capital. Register now!

Focus on Fine Art Photography
Focus on Fine Art Photography offers high school students an intensive introduction to photography as a form of art and self-expression. Register now!

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM

Students are typically in shooting or in the studio from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. each day including weekends. Due to their intense and comprehensive nature, the Focus programs in Photojournalism and Fine Art Photography are only offered as residential programs.

CLOSING EXHIBITION AND RECEPTION

Regardless of the program option you choose, all students have their work showcased in the Pre-College Exhibition, which is held at the Corcoran’s Downtown campus on the final day of each two-week session. Parents, family members, and friends are invited and encouraged to attend both the exhibition and reception.
