The Corcoran College of Art + Design presents two intensive classes: “The Civil War in Art: Then and Now” and “Where History Comes Alive: Museums & Monuments in Washington, D.C.” These three-credit courses both offer students a unique opportunity to explore the history, art, and culture of Washington, D.C.. They are open to college students wishing to earn undergraduate credit or graduate credit, as well as to students wishing to audit the course for their personal enrichment. SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED STUDIES

Join us for in-depth learning experiences led by our expert faculty. One of the only art schools in the United States fully integrated with a world-class museum, the Corcoran College of Art + Design offers intensely creative education to its students. The new Summer Institute for Advanced Studies goes even further, offering concentrated, immersive classes and experiences, with optional assignments, depending on whether participants seek college credit. Participants in these postgraduate programs will work closely with the Corcoran’s distinguished faculty on focused topics in arts and culture.
