These three-credit courses both offer students a unique opportunity to explore the history, art, and culture of Washington, D.C.. They are open to college students wishing to earn undergraduate credit or graduate credit, as well as to students wishing to audit the course for their personal enrichment. Request more information.
SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED STUDIES
Join us for in-depth learning experiences led by our expert faculty. One of the only art schools in the United States fully integrated with a world-class museum, the Corcoran College of Art + Design offers intensely creative education to its students. The new Summer Institute for Advanced Studies goes even further, offering concentrated, immersive classes and experiences, with optional assignments, depending on whether participants seek college credit. Experience art, design, and photography this summer in Washington, D.C., through intensive credit classes and weeklong non-credit workshops. The Corcoran Summer Intensives are devoted to exploring ideas through art and design and to tapping into the wealth of cultural resources to be found at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art and Design—and in our nation’s capital.
The Corcoran’s intensive Pre-College programs are designed to prepare rising high school juniors and seniors ages 16-18 for college admission and undergraduate success in the fields of photography, fine art, and design. Learn more...
